This is a purely antique Yemenite Bedouin necklace. Featuring one of the most beautiful and favorite ornaments of the late Yemenite silver smiths, the hollow silver globes. Intricately made with little elaborate rosettes, and signed by the silver smith "Yusuf" which is Arabic for Joseph, a common name in the indigenous Yemeni Jewish community, which mastered such fine silver crafts for centuries before immigrating to Palestine early in the past century. It's strung with the Bedouin lady best friend; amber! In a beautiful contrast of shape and color with the round shiny globes. The Bakelite cubes are high lighted with little silver globes and floral silver discs, embracing two hard to find silver berries, adding to the geometry and texture of the necklace. A wonderfully large and rare pendant grace the necklace, decorated in perfect harmony with the same rosette application of the globes and adorned with rare fine drops , which is of a mid silver grade , unlike the pendant and globes which are of the highest coin silver grade .
